Eight Original Caramel Flavors
The "numbers" in the shop's name, "NUMBER SUGAR," are the origin of its name. The caramels, numbered 1 through 8, signify that each number corresponds to a different flavor. Because the ingredients themselves are kneaded into the caramel, it offers a unique texture that allows you to enjoy the original taste, aroma, and mouthfeel.
The manufacturing process, which involves caramelizing the sugar once before boiling, results in a refined melt-in-your-mouth texture without cloying sweetness. When stored in an environment below 24°C and out of direct sunlight, the caramels can be enjoyed for approximately one month from the date of sale.
Beyond these caramels, NUMBER SUGAR also offers "caramel candy" on a stick, "butterscotch" with a delightful crisp texture, and two types of "caramel cream," recommended for spreading on freshly baked bread. All products in the store are additive-free, containing no artificial fragrances, colorings, or preservatives. In the kitchen, which occupies about half of the store, visitors can watch artisans craft caramels daily through the glass partition.
Additionally, the shop offers freshly ground coffee for 100 yen a cup. Located just a two to three-minute walk from Omotesando, the in-store eat-in space provides a perfect spot to enjoy a caramel and coffee, offering a brief respite during a shopping excursion.
NUMBER SUGAR plans to introduce limited-edition products and special events for occasions such as Valentine's Day and White Day in the future. Updates will be posted regularly on their official Facebook page, which is also worth checking.
