Playful Sweets & Savories Inspired by Tiaras and Jewelry

At Conrad Tokyo's bar and lounge "Twenty Eight," which embodies modern Japanese luxury, an afternoon tea titled "Princess Celebration" will be offered from May 1 (Wed, holiday) to June 30 (Sun), 2019, in collaboration with Parisian high jewelry brand "Chaumet."

The afternoon tea, which expresses the maison's worldview of pursuing creative designs by blending traditional styles with contemporary sensibility, features elegant and playful sweets and savories suitable for modern women, curated by Conrad Tokyo's Pastry Chef Masaki Okazaki.

Delicate and gorgeous sweets, such as a blueberry cake adorned with sugar craft depicting the maison's signature cobalt blue and Chaumet's iconic tiara, a delicate ruby chocolate and strawberry tart topped with a chocolate tiara, macarons resembling earrings, and a strawberry bavarois inspired by an elegant dress, are a delight to behold.

The savories, including a glistening gold wine jelly with foie gras mousse and Bolognese rice croquettes expressing the jewelry collection with pink and gold leaf, are finished with a subtle acidity, providing a perfect accent between the sweets.

In addition to the standard plan served on glass plates, a deluxe plan presented on a tiered stand and a plan with free-flow champagne are available. Enjoy a relaxing time at Twenty Eight, with its open atmosphere overlooking Hamarikyu Gardens, where fresh green leaves begin to emerge, and Tokyo Bay shimmering in the early summer light.
