An Event to Savor Local Wine and Dinner Pairings with the Producer

On Sunday, June 24, 2018, an event called "Makers' Dinner" was held at Hoshino Resorts RESONARE Yatsugatake, offering participants a chance to experience the allure of wine alongside winemaker Miho Ikeno (Representative of Domaine Mie Ikeno Agricultural Corporation Les Pas du Chat).

Domaine Mie Ikeno is a winery located in Hokuto City, and it also partners with RESONARE Yatsugatake. On the day of the "Makers' Dinner," 14 groups, totaling 27 participants, attended. Guests enjoyed a special menu, created for the occasion by the chef of the main dining room "OTTO SETTE," paired with wines from Ikeno.

The following day, a special program offered a visit to the winery. Participants heard from Ikeno about the current growth of the grapes in the vineyards, which offer spectacular views of Yatsugatake and the Southern Alps, and looked forward to the 2018 vintage, set for release in about two years.

At the dinner, three types of Mie Ikeno 2016 wines, released on June 2, 2018, were served alongside "Chardonnay 2016," which had an early release in December of the previous year, and the lightly sparkling wine "Chardonnay PartyParty 2013," available exclusively at RESONARE Yatsugatake. As a surprise from Ikeno, an early vintage "Merlot 2008," produced in very limited quantities, was also poured.

Participants enjoyed a unique, one-night-only dinner, composed entirely of Mie Ikeno wines, while hearing directly from Ikeno about the growth of the 2016 grapes and their flavor profiles.

Following this dinner, RESONARE Yatsugatake has decided to host Makers' Dinners on a monthly basis, featuring a succession of distinctive producers active in the Yatsugatake area.
