An Oil Sardine Can That Embodies Veuve Clicquot's History and Playfulness
Founded in 1772, Veuve Clicquot is a Champagne Maison that has pursued the ideal Champagne for over two centuries, guided by the principle of "Only one quality: the finest." Now, this esteemed Maison presents a limited edition item with a unique package.
The connection between Veuve Clicquot and sardines dates back to 1813. It is said that the Ponsardin family received permission to create a family crest when Nicolas Ponsardin was granted the title of Baron by Napoleon I. In choosing this crest, Nicolas Ponsardin cleverly incorporated his name, "Ponsardin," by depicting a "Pons" (bridge) and "Sardine" (sardine).
Inspired by this family crest, the "Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin," presented in an oil sardine can that evokes Veuve Clicquot's history and playfulness, has been released as a limited edition. While the can is reminiscent of an oil sardine tin, it is remarkably stylish. Smooth waves are etched into its sides, lending it a modern aesthetic alongside a sense of nostalgia.
