Italy's Esteemed Winery Finally Arrives
A highly anticipated wine brand from Italy makes its debut in Japan. Casa Zuliani, a winery with vineyards in two DOC growing regions in the Friuli area of northeastern Italy—Isonzo and Colli—has landed.

Two DOC Growing Regions with 3,000 Years of Winemaking History
The Friuli region has been cultivating grapes since before the Roman Empire and is known as a producer of top-quality wines alongside Tuscany and Piedmont. Casa Zuliani was founded in 1923 by a prestigious local noble family. While leveraging the winemaking traditions cultivated here for 3,000 years, the winery has become a brand drawing global attention in recent years due to the current owner's proactive reforms.
In this area with its mild climate, the winery utilizes the dual nature of its soils—both hilly and flat—to cultivate both indigenous and international grape varieties. White wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks and bottled the following spring, while red wines are aged for several years in 225-liter French barriques (barrels). The condensed essence of the grapes, hand-picked by Casa Zuliani's viticulture team, is transformed into exquisite flavors year after year in this manner.
The selection available in Japan includes two reds, two whites, and two sparkling wines, for a total of six varieties.
Red
•Vinter Rosso 5/95(Cabernet Sauvignon 95% / Merlot 5%)
As its deep ruby color suggests, this wine is characterized by soft, refined tannins and a rich, expansive aroma. It offers a substantial mouthfeel and remarkable concentration. The distinct character of Cabernet Sauvignon shines through with aromas of rich wild berries and red fruits.
