Rola Appointed Art Director for 'Jim Beam' Advertising!?


Talent and model Rola has been appointed as the advertising art director for "Jim Beam," the world's No. 1 bourbon, to express its "tradition" and "history." As the product's image character, Rola, who appears in memorable commercials, has captured the unchanging quality of Jim Beam over 200 years through her own perspective and sensibility, expressed in 14 different visuals. A giant advertisement is also on display for a limited time until Sunday, August 7th, within Tokyo Metro Shinjuku Station.

Suntory Spirits' "Jim Beam," renowned as the world's No. 1 bourbon, boasts over 200 years of history. Its flavor, passed down through generations of a single family, is characterized by its rich aroma and mildness. Talent and model Rola has been appointed as the advertising art director to express the "tradition" and "history" of "Jim Beam," a bourbon whiskey loved in over 120 countries worldwide.

Rola is known for her memorable "Cool Bourbon" in the commercials, where she adds ice cubes to a glass, blows on it, and the ice instantly crushes to music. This art direction also results in a similarly cool finish.

During the shoot at the Jim Beam distillery in Kentucky, Rola herself directed the process, expressing the unchanging quality of Jim Beam over 200 years through 14 different visuals. Her fashion coordination, inspired by the Jim Beam distillery, was also a key point of the art direction.

The theme is "Make History." The most important aspect was to feel the history of "Jim Beam." It is precisely because "Jim Beam" has not only persisted but also continuously evolved and been loved through the ages that it exists today. While a distillery might evoke images of workwear or vintage clothing, suggesting a masculine and casual feel, Rola linked this to the idea of evolving with the times and being loved, wearing the latest in avant-garde fashion. The featured items are from MSGM, designed by Massimo Giorgetti, one of Italy's most promising designers. Regarding this direction, Rola herself commented, "Visiting the Jim Beam distillery, I experienced the charming buildings, the rich air, and the lingering scents, and expressed the "tradition" and "history" of Jim Beam as I felt them. I want people to feel the unchanging quality of over 200 years, which is different from Jim Beam's usual urban and cool taste. I also created a selfie spot at the Shinjuku Station poster, so come and step into the world of Jim Beam and take a two-shot photo with me."

A giant advertisement is on display for one week, from Monday, August 1st, to Sunday, August 7th, at the Metro Promenade within Tokyo Metro Shinjuku Station. Those aged 20 and over can enter a scene that evokes the "tradition" and "history" of "Jim Beam" at the selfie spot and take a two-shot photo with Rola.

Additionally, this giant advertisement features "peel-off cards" that can be freely removed. By scanning the QR code on the back, you can enter a campaign to win the "ROLA’S SPECIAL JIM BEAM SET." 50 winners will receive an original carton (a gift box made of white oak) and a distillery photo set directed by Rola, so check it out and apply now.
