EAT | "Yasaka" Sweets for New Year's Gifts
Almond confections, symbols of good fortune, arrive in auspicious packaging.
Henri Charpentier, the renowned Western confectionery brand, introduces three types of baked goods made with almonds—a symbol of happiness—in special, auspicious packaging. They will be available for a limited time from today until January 7 (Thursday) at all stores nationwide and online.

Praying for good fortune at Uchide-Tenjin Shrine in Ashiya, steeped in the legend of the "Uchide no Kozuchi" treasure mallet.
This season, under the theme of "Yasaka" (meaning to prosper ever more) Sweets, the brand presents its signature Financier, the Galette des Rois, a traditional French New Year's cake reimagined as bite-sized baked treats called "Pocket des Rois," and "Almond Hug," a rich almond confection. These are offered as New Year's sweets befitting the start of the year.
The 8-piece Financier set comes in packaging inspired by gold ingots, adorned with a decorative ribbon for a luxurious finish. The 16-piece Financier set, along with the Pocket des Rois, Almond Hug, and assorted treats in a tiered box, feature a red and white candle flame design and New Year's gift packaging with a traditional water cord knot.
Furthermore, these confections have been blessed at Uchide-Tenjin Shrine, the guardian shrine of Ashiya City where Henri Charpentier originated. The shrine is known for the legend of the "Uchide no Kozuchi," a treasure said to grant wishes.
