Renowned Chefs Compete with Gyoza as Their Theme
"I believe it was a legendary day, marking a new page in the history of gyoza, with the participation of the most brilliant chefs imaginable."
At the venue of "GYOZA SALONE 2015," held in Yoyogi, Tokyo, on August 22nd, scriptwriter Kaoru Koyama shared these words of joy.
This event, titled GYOZA SALONE 2015, was planned as a special project for "GRAND ATLAS - A Map of Quality -," a program by LEXUS that explores new forms of quality in collaboration with individuals from various fields who continue to pursue original activities.
The one-day gyoza event was organized by scriptwriter Kaoru Koyama, who possesses a deep understanding of food, and Paradise Yamamoto, the owner of "Man-Kyo-En," a members-only high-end gyoza restaurant.
For this event, our program, which seeks "new experiences of quality," arranged for Japan's leading innovative chefs. Chef Yosuke Suga, owner-chef of the French restaurant "SUGALABO," Jun Kuroki, head chef of the Japanese restaurant "Kurogi," and pastry chef Toshihiko Yoroizuka, among others, showcased their skills, creating entirely new gyoza born from their individual sensibilities.
General guests also participated in this event. Invitations were extended through a lottery to those who tweeted their "gyoza love" with the hashtag "#ギョーザサローネ" on Twitter. In an extraordinary setting, guests were amazed by the unprecedented gyoza served one after another, savoring the flavors created by professionals from each genre. GYOZA SALONE 2015 concluded with great success. Its proceedings will be broadcast on BS Asahi's "Grand Atlas" on Sunday, September 13th, at 23:30.
