Special Collaboration Menu Appears for a Limited Time to Commemorate 2nd Anniversary
The Azabu-Juban store, the first overseas location of Milan's long-established gelato specialty shop, Gelateria Marghera, celebrates its second anniversary this year. To commemorate this, two menu items born from a collaboration with Signifiant Signifié and Taketsuru Sake Brewery will be available from Tuesday, July 14th to Sunday, August 16th.

Blending Japanese Craftsmanship with Italian Lifestyle
Gelateria Marghera was founded in Milan in 1979 by gelato artisan Franco Pravettoni. To mark the second anniversary of its first overseas store in Azabu-Juban, a collaboration with Japanese artisanal brands has been realized.
The first offering is a collaboration with Signifiant Signifié, a bakery in Sangenjaya led by chef Katsuei Shiga. This is a novel "brioche gelato" where a special original brioche, created exclusively for Marghera, is filled with your choice of gelato (top photo).
The style of sandwiching gelato in brioche is a common way to enjoy gelato at Marghera's main store. This was born from Mr. Pravettoni's strong desire that "people in Japan should also experience this." The harmony between the original brioche, finished with a melt-in-your-mouth texture through low-temperature, long-fermentation, and the smooth gelato is exquisite.
For the second offering, they have developed a gelato using sake lees from Taketsuru Sake Brewery, a long-established brewery in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, also known as the birthplace of Nikka Whisky founder Masataka Taketsuru. This brewery is renowned for its premium junmai sake, best enjoyed warm. Furthermore, an affogato style is also available, pouring Taketsuru Sake Brewery's nigori sake, "Sanmi Ittai," which offers a delightful harmony with acidity.
