Legendary Rock Singer Patti Smith Contributes Foreword

Born in Belgium, Ann Demeulemeester is a designer who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 1981. Also known as one of the Antwerp Six, she garnered attention by challenging the fashion industry with her proactive reforms in fashion design and her approach of countering luxury trends. In 1985, she established her own brand, "Ann Demeulemeester."

Ann Demeulemeester believes fashion is a tool for communication. She translates all emotions into her designs through her distinctive, contrasting methods, expressing the essence through layering. Her creations, characterized by elegant tailoring and a chic yet beautiful aesthetic primarily in black, forge a unique world that is dark and romantic, a masterful fusion of edgy rebellion and sophistication.

This book, a testament to her long career, is comprised of over 1,000 photographs that unravel the brand. With meticulous attention to size, specifications, and layout, it stands apart as a unique "Ann Demeulemeester" volume, distinct from conventional fashion books. The introduction is contributed by legendary rock singer Patti Smith. The book will be available at Ann Demeulemeester Omotesando Hills, Isetan Shinjuku, Hankyu Umeda, and Dover Street Market Ginza.
