Familiar Foods in Unfamiliar Forms
Aya Brachett is a photographer active in various magazines such as The New York Times Magazine, Gastronomica, Monocle, and ECOLOGO, and has dedicated her life's work to photographing all aspects of "food." Based in Oakland, California, she is also the sole photographer to have directly observed the West Coast food culture, including "Chez Panisse," the restaurant of Alice Waters, who ignited a "delicious revolution" on the West Coast.
This solo exhibition features works where familiar foods intertwine with natural elements like rocks, sand, and wood debris, revealing entirely new expressions. A special booklet compiling the exhibited works will also be created exclusively for this event. Furthermore, Aya Brachett herself will be present in the gallery on May 3rd (Saturday) from 1 PM to 4 PM. A signing session will be held for those who purchase artworks or related books.
