Exhibition of Glass Architecture with Diverse Light


An exhibition where the next generation of architects proposes future glass architecture.


AGC Inc. and AGC Studio,AAF (Art and Architect Festival)in cooperation with AAF (Art and Architect Festival), will host the "Exhibition of Glass Architecture with Diverse Light" by young architects aged 30 and under, from Friday, March 7th to Saturday, May 31st, at AGC Studio in Kyobashi, Tokyo.

Architect Kumiko Inui to Participate in Talk Event


The theme of the exhibition is "Glass Architecture with Diverse Light." It showcases architectural proposals for new ways of using glass, submitted in a design competition for young architects aged 30 and under held last October.

The exhibitors are Ryoko Iwase (Grand Prize), Ippei Komatsu (Excellence Award), Koichiro Sugiyama (Excellence Award), Miyuki Ue, and Tomoyuki Tsukakoshi – five individuals in total. The Grand Prize-winning proposal will be realized in full scale using actual glass. The two Excellence Award-winning proposals will be displayed with panels and models, while the other two proposals will be presented with panels.

At the talk event on Friday, March 7th, exhibitors Ryoko Iwase, Ippei Komatsu, and Koichiro Sugiyama will be present. The first half will feature presentations of their works, followed by a discussion moderated by architectural historian Shunsuke Kurakata, exploring the future possibilities and direction of glass architecture with the young architects.

Additionally, at the talk event on Friday, April 25th, leading Japanese architects and structural engineers from a generation above the exhibiting young architects will be invited to explore the future of glass architecture and its potential. The guests will beArchitect Kumiko Inui, with moderation by architect Hiroshi Ota, structural engineer Jun Sato, and architect Takahiro Hiranuma.
