Textile Designer Reiko Sudo Appears

In this talk event, architect Kohki Hiranuma will moderate, while designer Kenmei Nagaoka engages in conversation with the guest. The series aims to foster discussions on what each speaker feels is relevant "now" in their respective fields, offering a cross-disciplinary perspective on design.

Following the "Fashion Designer Edition" from two events ago, this installment, "Fashion Textile Designer Edition," welcomes textile designer Reiko Sudo as the guest.

At NUNO Corporation, where Ms. Sudo serves as a director, textiles are created using everything from traditional Japanese dyeing and weaving techniques to cutting-edge modern technology. With most products manufactured in domestic factories, the textiles, which fully leverage their technical prowess and potential, possess an artistic quality.

This series, which finds common ground across diverse design fields such as architecture, product design, and textiles, also highlights their distinct differences. Following the talk, a reception with an opportunity for participants to mingle will be held. It will be a chance to share, up close, the "now" felt by designers active on the front lines.
