'Vocalist's Atelier' ~The World of Bass & Baritone~, Performance on October 15th

An Autumn Evening of Exquisite Opera to Enrich the Soul
October 15 (Wed): "Vocalist's Atelier" – The World of Bass & Baritone (Original Language Performance with Subtitles)

While there's nothing wrong with being captivated by the soaring high notes of a tenor that seem to pierce the heavens, the sublime performances of bass and baritone voices, with their rich, deep resonance, possess an irresistible charm and a vivid, healing power that can invigorate the spirit.
The Kioi Hall's "Series: Song," renowned for its performances by top-tier artists, enters its 12th year. This year, the spotlight turns to the world of bass and baritone – the pivotal figures in opera – with a gathering of today's most celebrated singers.

A Night of Substance to Fully Savor the Charm of the Human Voice

From famous opera arias to rarely performed, exquisite melodies, a rich palette of voices will unfold dramatic and vibrant scenes, exploring themes such as "lust," "politics," "paternity," "romance," "villainy," "scheming," and "pious monks." Particularly in the duets from Verdi operas, the program is crafted to evoke the historical context of the opera's romantic tales with a palpable sense of realism.

Center: Yasuhiro Sato (as Don Alfonso)

Michio Tatera (as Robert Storch)

The highly anticipated cast features Kei Yonashiro, a baritone making waves as a rising star; Kenji Saiki, one of Japan's most sought-after bass singers with international acclaim; Yasuhiro Sato, also internationally recognized; and Michio Tatara, who serves as the narrator and leads the music world with his rich, beautiful voice. The appearance of two divas, Mami Koshigoe and Keiko Yoshihara, each possessing unparalleled beauty and vocal talent, in the ensemble numbers is also a major draw for fans.

The performance will be in its original language, but with Japanese subtitles, ensuring that everyone can fully enjoy a night of deeply rewarding opera.

Kenji Saiki (as Count Gremin)

Mozart's "Don Giovanni" Right: Mami Koshigoe (as Elvira)

Voices imbued with immeasurable power, brimming with life. "We want to weave a world of rich resonance that can fill the gaps in our weary society and the shallowness of human hearts." Join these modern knights, who perform daily with such aspirations, on a journey into opera that touches the soul.

We invite you to open the door to "Vocalist's Atelier."
