Curated Goods and Books for Everyone to Enjoy
It has been about three years since "Tokyo's Tokyo," a curated shop themed around "souvenirs from Tokyo" opened on the third floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 2. The Tokyo's Tokyo opening on the fifth floor of Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku will debut as a shop with a renewed concept and appearance.
Mr. Yoshitaka Haba, head of BACH, who is in charge of production and book selection, and Mr. Yu Yamada, head of method, who is in charge of goods selection, stated their aspirations: "This is an editorial shop where you can encounter manga and anime anew. Content that was once for children or for Akihabara has now captivated adults and become a culture we can be proud of to the world. Following the Haneda Airport Terminal 2 store, this second Tokyo's Tokyo store carefully selects unique雑貨 (zakka - miscellaneous goods) and books that anyone can enjoy, using manga and anime as a lens. We don't just want to sell character goods; we want people to learn about their history and origins. We want people to encounter new things in a physical store, not just buy what they already know through online shopping. From this Harajuku intersection, we want to deliver the essence of a new Tokyo culture to everyone."
