OPENERS GALLERY11 EIGHT | Graphic Designer

NEW CREATOR’S FILE Vol.11
EIGHT|graphic designer

What inspired you to become a graphic designer?

I was always good at art subjects, so around junior high school, I started to vaguely think about wanting to do creative work.
I started thinking about it more concretely in my early twenties. While working at a certain shop in Shibuya, I got into graffiti. Out of curiosity, I got a MAC and started making T-shirts for bands (BDB) and flyers for clubs, which is how I became interested in graphic design and DTP.

What job made you feel like a professional?

When I was able to produce work that I was satisfied with, while collaborating with professionals.
Also, when I could purchase expensive books as business expenses.

Self-commentary on your style

I translate imagery inspired by street culture, such as graffiti, into my own graphic designs. I dislike being confined to a single style, and I use several different styles, so I think my work varies. I generally prefer analog methods, and I often convert them to digital in the end. What I always aim for is a 'refined sense of imperfection'.

If you were to give a title to this series of works?

Graphic Bombz

What part of this work would you like people to look at?

I'd be happy if you could just take a quick look at everything.

Your rivals (not limited to those in the same profession)

Myself and the people I respect.

What are your future prospects?

I want to work worldwide, from the streets to the mainstream.

A message to OPENERS readers who have seen your work

I'd be happy if you could also check out my other projects.
