In Early Summer New York (Part 2)

This is a continuation of our previous trip to New York. It's the main shooting day for ProfessorRyuichi Sakamotoand we visited his studio to photograph an advertisement for United Arrows' "Darjeeling Days."

Darjeeling Days feels like stylish casual wear for discerning adults. During this shoot, the focus was very much on relaxed wear.

The professor's button-down shirt and chinos, which he's wearing in the photos, are also from Darjeeling Days. My short trench coat is from HAUTE, the pink sweater is by Alexander McQueen, and the trim t-shirt is from Dior Homme or American Apparel. The wide corduroy pants are Balenciaga, and I'm not sure about the sneakers? Where were they from?

During the studio shoot, I tried to capture candid, snapshot-like fashion photos by having the professor play ethnic musical instruments he'd brought back from Africa or read interesting books that were lying around.

The photos of him standing alone were taken near the professor's studio. The tote bag is from Jack Spade. I often wore this style around that time.

I loved the length, crisp texture, and sheen of the HAUTE coat. For the Alexander McQueen sweater, I was captivated by its fluorescent pink color.

If the white and red trim t-shirt was from Dior Homme, its light fabric felt incredibly comfortable... And if it was from American Apparel, I liked the cut and the price was fantastic. I recall it costing around $20.

For some reason, I bought five Jack Spade bags in different colors during that period. I still use them occasionally. White x orange, white x blue, yellow x blue, red x blue, black x lime green – I just love the color combinations.
