Keiko Takahashi x Chikako Kaku x Maki Mizuno x Yuga Yamato

'Sasameyuki,' a celebrated Japanese stage masterpiece, is based on Junichiro Tanizaki's novel depicting the lives of the four Makioka sisters—Tsuruko, Sachiko, Yukiko, and Myoko—of a long-established cotton merchant family in the Semba district of Osaka during the 1930s. Since its premiere in 1966, after 48 years, the play has been performed over 1,400 times, with numerous renowned actresses gracing the stage as the elegant sisters of Osaka's Semba.

In this production, Keiko Takahashi reprises her role as the eldest sister, Tsuruko, Chikako Kaku as the second sister, Sachiko, and Maki Mizuno as the third sister, Yukiko, following their performances in the 2012 production. Yuga Yamato, who retired in 2009 after a distinguished career as a top male role star in the Cosmos Troupe of the Takarazuka Revue, is cast as the fourth sister, Myoko. Expectations are high for her portrayal of Myoko, a chic and spirited character forging her own path to independence.
