A Collaborative Creation on a 2.5-Meter Japanese Paper
"Artists for Nippon Isshin" was conceived by Shishu, known for her calligraphy for the NHK historical drama "Ryomaden," with the aim of uniting people's hearts and enabling everyone involved to contribute to charity in some way. The works created during the collaboration live performance will be sold at auction, with all proceeds and event admission fees going towards supporting those affected by the disaster and aiding in the reconstruction of the affected regions. The first event was held in May of this year with Nihonga painter Sohei Iwata, copperplate engraver Katsuaki Shigeno, and painter Kazuyuki Takishita.
For this second installment, Shishu will be joined by Yoichi Takahashi, the creator of the manga "Captain Tsubasa," and Hiroki Ohara, the fifth-generation headmaster of the Ohara School of Ikebana, who is only 23 years old. During the live performance, Shishu's calligraphy and Yoichi Takahashi's illustrations will come together on a large 2.5-meter Japanese paper! Hiroki Ohara's ikebana will then add its floral artistry to this luxurious and unprecedentedly innovative combination. The completed artwork will be sold on-site through a silent auction with a voting system.
Witness a one-night-only, unconventional collaboration brought to you by pioneers in calligraphy, manga, and ikebana. Be present for the intense creative moments where the souls of these three artists collide.
