All Proceeds Donated to "Children's Music Restoration Fund" and More
Originating in France, "Playtime" is a trade show that presents new collections for children and maternity wear to buyers and press. It has been held twice a year in Japan since 2009, and this marks its fifth event. This time, approximately 100 brands from Japan and abroad will participate, showcasing new collections not only in clothing but also in footwear, toys, childcare items, design goods, and furniture.
At "Playtime,"Great East Japan Earthquakefollowing the disaster, a charity sale was held as "Playtime Loves Japan" at the Paris and New York shows in July. The Paris show raised approximately 3.5 million yen (about 31,500 euros), all of which was donated to child-focused support organizations such as "Kids saver," "Save the Children Japan," and "Breast Milk Testing and Mother-Child Support Network."
Popular Brands from Japan and Abroad Participate
The designer sample sale in Japan will feature popular brands from Japan and abroad, including "Hakka Kids," "Jill Stuart New York," "BEAMS mini," and "Cath Kidston." These items will be sold at an exceptional price of 70 percent off the retail price. Additionally, Japanese pâtissiers active in France will showcase their skills, having received the "M.O.F. (Meilleur Ouvrier de France)" award, selling flavorful cookies. Special limited-edition posters, drawn by French first-graders inspired by Japan, will also be available. The venue's ambiance will be curated by Schoko, a Japanese artist based in Paris. Her unique "origami sculpture" works, made from paper, will romantically transport visitors to a "fairytale land."
All proceeds from these sales will be entrusted to "Save the Children Japan," a disaster relief organization, and the "Children's Music Restoration Fund", which repairs and replaces musical instruments damaged in schools due to the earthquake free of charge, as well as the "Fumbaro Higashi Nihon Support Project," which lends Geiger counters free of charge to areas affected by the nuclear disaster.
This charity sale allows you to help children in disaster-stricken areas by purchasing items for children. It also presents an opportunity to acquire designer samples, rarely seen in everyday life, at bargain prices.
