Exploring the Enigmatic Genius Who Revolutionized Fashion

Martin Margiela, the Belgian designer and founder of "Maison Martin Margiela," is known for his reclusiveness, never granting face-to-face interviews or appearing in public. This short documentary delves into the enigma of one of fashion's most elusive and mysterious figures through interviews with those who have been part of his creative journey and personal life.

The film features interviews with fashion titans such as journalist Suzy Menkes, designers Jean-Paul Gaultier and Raf Simons, and Geert Bruloot, the fashion retail entrepreneur who first recognized Margiela's immense talent. Their words shed light on the veiled persona of Martin Margiela. The short documentary has been nominated for the Short Film Competition at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.

Director Alison Chernick commented: “Thanks to YOOX Group, millions of people can experience Martin Margiela’s creativity and talent, and see the unique image of one of the most innovative designers of the 20th century. I am also very honored by this nomination.”

A short version is currently available on yoox.com, thecorner.com, and shoescribe.com. The full version will be released online on Monday, April 27th, shortly after the winners of the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival are announced.
