Modern pieces rooted in the functionality of marine wear

Pop-up stores to be held at major department stores in Tokyo

Italian brand "MARINA YACHTING," handled by ISC Japan, which also distributes Henry Cotton's in Japan, began its operations with the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter season. From late April, women's and men's pop-up stores will open at major department stores in Tokyo.

Founded in 1878, brand launched in 1972

MARINA YACHTING's origins trace back to 1878 in Genoa, Italy, when Nicolo Gabino, a sailor, imported durable double-breasted navy jackets (pea coats) from Britain to wear on his boat and sold them in his own shop. Later, in the 1960s, his great-grandson Giorgio began global expansion and founded the MARINA YACHTING brand in 1972.

The collection, a modern interpretation of marine wear, features newly developed high-performance materials with waterproof and water-repellent finishes, offering sophisticated Italian designs that excel in both style and function.

This season sees an evolution of the brand's signature pea coat, now featuring a layered inner down jacket. A new outerwear piece arrives with a detachable, hooded down layer attached to a spring coat. Other items include water-repellent knits, all based on the functional principles of marine wear.

Inspired by the sea, a free-spirited style like the wind

The 2015 Spring/Summer Men's Collection expresses the image of urban men who, while living in the city, are constantly conscious of and long for the sea. Traditional nautical garments, representative of MARINA YACHTING, are redesigned with a fresh interpretation, incorporating the brand's strong identity through sophisticated details, functional materials, and vibrant colors.

The Women's Collection reinterprets the brand's traditional style, appealing to a feminine, free spirit. Sailor jackets are infused with feminine elements, proposing new combinations. Elements of MARINA YACHTING's essence are expressed throughout, from flared skirts in navy and white stripes to jacquard pants with microdots and taffeta coats.
