T-shirts Available in English and Japanese Versions
"Books open doors to the world and have the power to change lives," says Ralph Lauren.
Through the sale of 12 types of literacy t-shirts featuring messages in 12 different languages, they support the improvement of literacy for children around the globe.
The Literacy Collection features t-shirts with messages in both English and Japanese on the brand's iconic Polo Pony. Additionally, a girls-exclusive t-shirt with an illustration of a girl is also available.
Furthermore, 25% of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to the Japan School Library Association (National SLA). These funds will be used to purchase books, chosen by children, for schools in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures, which were severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. This initiative aims to support the recovery of school libraries and aid in the reconstruction and revitalization of disaster-affected regions through education.
