The Theme: Timeless Value, Craftsmanship, and Innovation
Burberry's iconic gabardine, invented in 1879 by Thomas Burberry, is a lightweight, windproof, and water-repellent fabric. It is woven at Burberry's mill in West Yorkshire, England, and used in the brand's signature trench coats.
Inspired by the heritage fabric, the eyewear collection embodies timeless value, craftsmanship, and innovation. It features two distinctive temple styles: draped temples and twisted temples, inspired by the twill structure and soft drape of gabardine.
The color palette includes Burberry's signature gradient honey, gradient nude, natural horn look, oxblood, and classic black. Available shapes include square, cat-eye, round, and butterfly. Prices range from ¥27,000 to ¥39,000 (excluding tax).
The collection's advertising features British models Naomi Campbell and Jourdan Dunn from the Burberry 2015 Spring/Summer Global Advertising Campaign, directed by Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey, and photographed by Mario Testino.
