Updating Authentic Denim for the Modern Era

The "WANG 001" slim-fit, high-rise denim was born from designer Alexander Wang's desire to create a slim fit that isn't quite skinny. With a slight stretch, it achieves a silhouette that's just a touch looser at the hem and knees.

The "WANG 002" offers a modern take on men's denim, featuring a low-waisted, tapered silhouette that creates a feminine feel. The "WANG 003" boy fit is characterized by a silhouette that invites you to tuck your hands into the pockets and wear them low on the hips, with dropped front sides and a straight hip line for a distinctly menswear-inspired look.

Attention has also been paid to the materials and finishing processes, employing various techniques to achieve a well-loved, vintage feel. Washing methods to create crease lines and whiskers, along with hand-sanding and shaving, combine cutting-edge technology with traditional handmade methods to reproduce natural fading and a vintage aesthetic.

"Denim is a very personal item for me. I saw many of my girlfriends altering vintage, non-stretch denim to fit them, and I wanted to faithfully recreate that while also updating it for a more feminine fit," comments designer Alexander Wang.

"DENIM × ALEXANDER WANG" has already had a先行発売 (early release) at the New York flagship store and official online shop, with global limited store availability beginning in March. In Japan, it will be exclusively available at the "DENIM × ALEXANDER WANG" pop-up store opening at Isetan Shinjuku on March 4th (Wednesday). Additionally, the latest models are scheduled to be unveiled in the 2016 Resort Collection.
