Spring/Summer 2015: A Collection Devoid of Color, Rooted in Brand History

The flagship store, which occupies the former site of Takashimaya Department Store, is housed in a striking postmodern building designed by John Burgee and Philip Johnson. The 20,000-square-foot space reflects an innovative store concept developed by Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli in collaboration with architect David Chipperfield.

The interior, while honoring the brand's signature romanticism and classicism, introduces a new direction, evoking the atmosphere of a palazzo. A distinctive facade extends across eight floors. The store offers a full range of items, including women's and men's collections and accessories. Additionally, in collaboration with the interior design brand Fornasetti, a collection featuring various items such as sunglasses, tableware, and furniture will be available, alongside other special capsule collections.

To celebrate the opening of the flagship store, the Haute Couture collection was presented in New York. As an endeavor to create new expressions, this collection draws inspiration from the "Non Color" show, or "Sfilata Bianca," presented by the brand in Rome in 1968. The collection, named "Sala Bianca 945," consists entirely of looks in white, rooted in the brand's history. White is interpreted in all its meanings – as the absence of color, or as the sum of all colors. Through elegant and intricate structures and masterful craftsmanship that highlights textural variations, the white-on-white collection offers a rich and dramatic display. The store opening party was attended by numerous distinguished guests, including actresses Emma Roberts and Katie Holmes.
