Three Distinct Stories Unfold

The Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Autumn/Winter 2014 collection draws inspiration from the Parisian woman of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. While honoring Sonia Rykiel's heritage with vivid colors, black stripes, artistic and playful all-over prints, and expressive knits, the collection offers a contemporary reinterpretation through a unique lens. It features street luxury items that blend high-quality materials and beautiful silhouettes with playful details.

Participating in this collaborative project are Mika Tajima, a Japanese-American artist working as a video director, installation artist, and painter; Annie Larson, a knitwear designer based in Brooklyn, New York; and Anna Parkina, who presents her work using various mediums including video, performance, painting, and collage.
The created short films freely express the brand's worldview from the perspectives of these three female creators, using this season's coats.

Mika Tajima created a profound short film where a mirror is shattered by a hammer. The reflection of a woman in the coat, seen through the fragmented mirror, evokes iconoclasm. Annie Larson presented a video focusing on knitwear, paying homage to Sonia Rykiel's history. Anna Parkina used materials simply, creating a look reminiscent of a cute teddy bear. The story unfolds with colorful pieces enveloping the coat like an animated collage.
