“himie aoyama atelier & shop” Opens
himie, a jewelry brand that crafts pieces with the theme of “quiet assertion,” imagining them as heirlooms for a century from now. The brand’s second location, the new atelier shop “himie aoyama atelier & shop,” has opened in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo.

New Atelier Shop Open Only on Weekends
himie’s jewelry is crafted with the hope that it will be cherished and passed down for generations, much like antique jewelry.
Designer Hiromichi Shimokawa, who has a background as a dental technician, excels at intricate and delicate work. He does not sketch designs; instead, pieces emerge from the organized chaos of his atelier desk.
Shimokawa emphasizes refined design and balance, believing that a period of “maturation” is essential to the creative process. This maturation period varies, sometimes lasting a month, sometimes a year. He hopes that the jewelry born from this process will bring happiness to those who wear it.
The new atelier shop, “himie aoyama atelier & shop,” might initially strike one as almost too simple, but the top surface of the display unit at the front is crafted from a single, substantial slab, with the wood grain meticulously matched on the single slab beneath.
