This Autumn, Focus on a Twist of Checkered Patterns

This autumn sees the grand arrival of classic patterns like tartan and windowpane checks. When one thinks of checks, one thinks of Britain. Beautiful People's theme is "The Beatles," with a runway show featuring the band members playing and singing Beatles songs under the Union Jack. This was apparently a long-held dream of designer Mr. Kumagai. They paired duffle coats and peacoats with wool check ankle pants, accessorizing with matching scarves. Bi-color double-faced cashmere coats and hooded shearling coats also appeared, creating an elegant casualness. Color sneakers with white soles added a playful touch. It's a collection that allows us to engage with clothing in a warm state of mind.



Mint Designs presents a collection with an energy that goes beyond its usual gentleness. Models strode across a zigzag runway. Windowpane checks were pieced together diagonally, creating flowing flares and asymmetrical, mode-inflected dresses. Bi-color coats featuring motifs within the checks, paired with slim pants, look sharp. The color palette centers on black and white, with blue and red as accent colors. The addition of twists in materials and techniques adds depth to the collection.
