A Shifting World Through the Lens of New Eyewear
The Prada Journal Literary Contest, a new initiative launched in 2013 as part of the eyewear collection's promotion, returns. Following the first edition's focus on our "everyday" world, this year's theme explores the transformations we are undergoing and the "changes" we face tomorrow.
“What signs will emerge in a changing world?
What can we envision for the future?
Perhaps the answers lie in meticulous observation.──”
Writers are asked to explore "literary expressions of the visual world." This does not mean simply describing the landscape before your eyes. The short stories, approximately 10 to 20 pages in A4 format, must, as with the previous contest, use eyewear as a starting point for the narrative. What kind of world can be seen through the lens? We encourage you to let your imagination run wild with Prada's new optical frames.
Eligibility requires participants to be 18 years or older and to submit unpublished work. As long as these two conditions are met, anyone worldwide, whether professional or amateur, can participate. All languages are accepted, so submissions in Japanese are also welcome. Submitting your work is simple: just upload your data via the form on Prada's official website. The deadline is June 11th. We eagerly await the announcement of this year's winners and the discovery of new talent.
