New Bags on Display, Like Artworks Crafted with Experimental Techniques
mintdesigns is a designer duo comprising Hokuto Katsui and Nao Yagi, who both graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London in 2000. They approach fashion as a form of product design, aiming to create "designs that enrich everyday life" through a wide range of activities.
The theme for the Spring/Summer 2014 collection is "VERTIGO," signifying dizziness. Designed like paintings, this collection features experimental and playful pieces, all based on a white canvas and hand-painted by the designers themselves. The colorful, marbled works each possess a unique individuality, with no two designs being exactly alike, exuding an aura akin to art pieces.
The "VERTIGO" exhibition currently underway showcases an installation focused on the bag collection. The exhibited pieces are also available for purchase, allowing visitors to acquire items they admire.
