Hiding Craftsmanship for a Subtle Finish
Couture and Ready-to-Wear Draw Closer!
Dior's collection. As always, the area in front of the Rodin Museum, the show venue, was under strict traffic control by numerous police officers, creating a festive atmosphere filled with the excited voices of madames. Inside, the mood shifted to one of quiet reverence.
This season, Raf Simons presented a collection that subtly incorporated craftsmanship, seemingly breaking free from the spell of Monsieur Dior's legacy.

This season introduced an approach from menswear tailoring, a first for Dior. A double-faced coat is casually draped over wool gabardine trousers. A modern mini dress is layered with a classic cashmere dress, featuring a kitschy color combination. The lace-up details, using shoelace-like cords on jackets and coats, are an evolution of the corset. They can be adjusted to cinch the body sexily or loosen for ease of movement, achieving a modern balance. It's a collection with Parisian flair and glamour.
Chanel transformed the entire Grand Palais into a supermarket. The idea was to turn the everyday act of placing juice and chocolates into shopping bags into an exceptionally stylish space! It was a playful challenge.

Models picked up items from the shelves and left the venue, a unique presentation; audience members rushed into the "store" during the finale.
A perforated midi skirt and trousers are paired with a tweed coat and sneakers. Shopping with a leather-chained Chanel basket! Chanel bags wrapped in plastic like cuts of meat, and shopping carts. Playful accessories are matched with luxurious, everyday wear. At the finale, the audience swarmed towards gloves adorned with camellias and cans of "CHOCO CHANEL." However, all these items were cleared out at the exit; it was a fleeting window shopping experience.
