Luxurious Costumes Harmonizing with a Unique Narrative World
FENDI worked with Academy Award-winning costume designer Milena Canonero, contributing to the overall sketch production. They crafted the grey astrakhan fur military coat worn by Inspector Henckels, played by Edward Norton, and the black mink collar adorning "Madame D.," portrayed by Tilda Swinton. Intricate details, such as the hand-painted elements on the Italian silk velvet cape, were also meticulously executed by FENDI. Each costume was conceived and designed in collaboration with Milena Canonero, perfectly capturing the film's late 20th-century aesthetic. The garments were produced in FENDI's esteemed fur ateliers.
Pietro Beccari, FENDI's Chairman and CEO, commented, "Creating costumes for film is deeply rooted in FENDI's DNA and history. It's the ultimate collaboration with Milena Canonero, and it reaffirms the close dialogue between FENDI and the world of cinema. It's a passion that truly flows naturally."
The Grand Budapest Hotel is scheduled for release nationwide in June.
