Inspired by New York, Produced in Japan

Sawai Takai, originally from Gifu, moved to the United States alone at age 15 with a dream of making her mark in the fashion world. After graduating high school, she enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. During her studies, she won a student competition and gained experience through internships at renowned brands and a year of study abroad in Milan. In 2012, she launched "sawa takai" with her sister, Rie.

Her designs are characterized by a mannish style, honed through experience at menswear houses like New York's Engineered Garments and Milan's Giuliano Fujiwara. With the theme "clothes a woman wears for herself, and no one else," she expresses a strong, confident female archetype. Her creations aim to convey a powerful will through symbolic design elements, such as the double-layering of fabrics. The brand draws inspiration from New York and is produced in Japan, offering high-quality items made possible by the delicate craftsmanship of Japanese manufacturing.





Prices range from ¥70,000-¥80,000 for coats, ¥50,000-¥60,000 for jackets, and ¥30,000-¥40,000 for bottoms. The collection will be available from early February at Isetan Shinjuku Main Building 3F = Re-Style and the fashion e-commerce site "ZOZOVILLA."

Designer Sawai Takai is steadily realizing her dream of "making her mark in the fashion world." Her style, which effortlessly embodies a cool woman who wears shirts and pants in a mannish way, is a perfect fit for Japanese women. We eagerly anticipate her future endeavors.
