Greyhound and Lepus Race Through Milan
The Greyhound logo was born in 1973. This short film, created to celebrate its 40th anniversary, is approximately two minutes long and expresses a fantastical world through animation, inspired by the constellations Lepus and Canis Major.
The story begins after closing at the Trussardi flagship store in Piazza della Scala, when the constellations shine and Lepus descends to Earth. The narrative follows Lepus as it races with the Greyhound through Milan, from the Duomo to the Pirelli Tower and the Navigli district, until dawn. The soundtrack was composed by Steve Mackey, a leading British musician and record producer, and an original member of the cult band Pulp.
Gaia Trussardi, who took the helm as Creative Director for the Spring/Summer 2014 collection, commented: "The Greyhound is a symbol of curiosity and elegance. That's why we decided to celebrate it in a modern, fun way. Producing the movie with James Lima, based on Yuko Shimizu's illustrations, was a wonderful experience, and we were able to create it with people from our base cities of Milan, New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, utilizing advanced technology."
