EACH × OTHER Opens First Domestic Pop-Up Store

From Thursday, December 5th, EACH × OTHER, a brand that fuses Parisian fashion and art, will host its first domestic pop-up store at Restir Midtown. In addition to the latest collection, works by two collaborating artists will be exhibited and sold.

Focus on Two Artists Expressing Through Words

EACH × OTHER is a fashion brand and creative community, formed by artists, poets, musicians, filmmakers, and fashion designers. More than six creators each season treat the wardrobe as a "canvas," presenting works that incorporate their individual artwork to create a single collection.

This pop-up store will feature the 2013 Autumn/Winter collection items, as well as art. Two of this season's collaborating artists, Canadian artist Blair Seagrave and London-based artist Robert Montgomery, have been curated, and their works will be exhibited and sold.

Both artists are contemporary artists who express themselves using "words," and the exhibition is named "ART LANGUAGE." The works on display include 100 "LUX mirror paintings" by Blair Seagrave and "THE CITY IS WILDER THAN YOU THINK," a light piece by Robert Montgomery, who also serves as a source of inspiration for the brand.

Blair Seagrave's screen mirror works are part of a new movement called "Manufactured Art." For him, art is about giving positive energy by allowing more people to see it, rather than limiting its audience. Based on this philosophy, he creates works that make art feel more accessible.

Robert Montgomery, an artist from Scotland, continuously presents his poems in public spaces. "THE CITY IS WILDER THAN YOU THINK," exhibited here, is an early work of his and the poem that inspired the brand.

This is a valuable opportunity to experience the world of EACH × OTHER, which hints at the future of fashion and art, and to easily encounter contemporary artists' works that have been difficult to find in Japan until now.
