Hello Kitty, a frequent visitor to the Omotesando store for events like the reception party and Fashion's Night Out, will celebrate her 40th anniversary in 2014. Opening Ceremony honors her birthday with this collaboration.

Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary theme is "ARIGATO HUG YOU ♡ 'To someone special, thank you. Hugs ♡'" expressing the happiness of feeling close to loved ones through gratitude and the embrace of a hug. Items designed with this motto are now available.

The collection captures Hello Kitty's gentle, soft form using abundant faux fur. Coats, dresses, and tote bags are crafted from fluffy faux fur that invites a hug. Hello Kitty's favorite blue overalls are reimagined with a distinctly modern edge.




Also featured are sweatshirt tops and cut-and-sew pieces printed with Hello Kitty wearing Opening Ceremony apparel. A key detail is that Kitty-chan's eyes are designed as 'O' and 'C'. The collection will feature a total of 10 items, including cut-and-sew tops adorned with cute Hello Kitty graphics.
