The True Face Hidden Behind the Sunglasses

After the founder Coco Chanel's passing, Lagerfeld took over the struggling house and brilliantly revived it. He simultaneously served as designer for four maisons, including Fendi and Chloé, powerfully leading the fashion world for approximately 30 years. The documentary, offering a glimpse into the true face hidden behind his iconic sunglasses, is finally being released in Japan.

Lagerfeld's exceptional vitality and his knack for reading the times, always pursuing "ever-changing elegance," remain undiminished. He has consistently garnered attention through collaborations with a wide range of brands, from H&M to Coca-Cola, and even producing a bookstore in Paris. In 2000, he achieved a remarkable 42-kilogram weight loss in 13 months, citing his desire to wear the slim suits of "Dior Homme" designed by Hedi Slimane, further capturing public imagination. Yet, his true self remains largely unknown.

The film closely follows Lagerfeld for 200 hours over two years. It captures his work with celebrities like Nicole Kidman, behind-the-scenes glimpses of fashion shows, and precious moments of him designing dresses. The documentary delves into the veiled genius who declares, "Fashion is ephemeral, dangerous, and unreasonable."

One-of-a-Kind Oversized Bags Unveiled

To celebrate the film's release, the select shop "PASS THE BATON," specializing in antiques and curated items, will host a special event from Friday, November 1st, to Saturday, November 30th. The first 25 customers who purchase or are presented with items designed by Karl Lagerfeld for "Chloé," "Chanel," "Fendi," or "Karl Lagerfeld" will receive a pair of cinema tickets.

Additionally, limited-edition oversized bags, each a unique piece created by adding new designs to used shopping bags, will be available. Furthermore, customers presenting a stub from a movie ticket will receive a special discount.

PASS THE BATON interprets Lagerfeld's pursuit of "ever-changing elegance" as "ever-changing supreme elegance is unchanging supreme value." We invite you to discover that value within the brands Lagerfeld has been involved with throughout his career.
