"VALENTINO: Objects of Couture" is co-authored by Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, and edited by art critic Francesco Bonami.

The art direction was handled by REM (Ruini e Mariotti), an Italian art director agency. The content consists of newly commissioned photographs, featuring over 300 accessory collection photographs and artworks by renowned artists such as David Bailey, Luisa Lambri, Nobuyoshi Araki, Duane Michals, Mert & Marcus, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, and Douglas Gordon. Two versions are planned: a deluxe edition sold exclusively at Valentino boutiques and a standard edition for wider release.

Regarding this book, co-authors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli commented, "It is a story that depicts beauty and fear, contemporaneity and tradition, dreams and nightmares, fantasy and everyday life, sublimity and the mundane."

The two, who have been responsible for Valentino's accessory collections for many years, were appointed Creative Directors of all lines in 2008. Since then, they have continued to oversee accessory design, consistently creating pieces that infuse craftsmanship with a modern sensibility.
