Schiaparelli's Aesthetic Reborn for the 21st Century
Marco Zanini will head the creative studio located at 21 Place Vendôme, overseeing both haute couture and ready-to-wear collections.
Regarding his appointment, Zanini commented, "Elsa anticipated trends through her designs from her own perspective while creating pieces that integrated into daily life, approaching creativity from various viewpoints. My aim is to revive the magnificent aesthetic of this iconic couture house." He plans to develop collections that fuse couture, art, and innovation, carrying forward the spirit of Elsa Schiaparelli, who incorporated avant-garde art and surrealism into her designs through a style that merged fashion and art.
Marco Zanini was born in Milan in 1971. He began his career in 1995 as an assistant to designer Laurence Steele. In 1998, he joined the women's design division at Dolce & Gabbana, where he worked closely with Domenico Dolce. After a stint at Versace in 1999, he was invited to be the Creative Director for the relaunch of Halston in 2008. Since 2009, he had served as the Creative Director for the French maison Rochas.
