Reviving Couture Heritage, Following Roger Vivier

Schiaparelli is back, debuting at the July Paris Couture Week. The house is renowned for its avant-garde designs that led the haute couture world from the 1920s to the 1950s. Christian Lacroix has been chosen to reimagine Schiaparelli for the 21st century.

Fuchsia pink, green, and gold. The brand presented innovative styles, incorporating the daring ideas of its original era. This presentation commemorates its revival, with all pieces displayed at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. A ready-to-wear line is reportedly set to launch in February next year during Paris Fashion Week. The revival of Schiaparelli was orchestrated by Italian entrepreneur Diego Della Valle, also the founder of Tod's. Following the revival of the luxury shoe brand Roger Vivier, he is now focusing on restoring the heritage of French couture houses.

Models wearing the new creations were also present at the presentation venue.

The Roger Vivier 2014 Spring/Summer Rendez-vous Collection featured a playful array of new designs, adorned with vinyl prints, beads, and rhinestones, exuding transparency and sparkle. The comma heel, also seen at Dior, was a design created by Roger Vivier for the Dior collection in the 1960s. The revival of couture brands is something to look forward to.
