――What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?

It's "SWEET REVENGE." Literally translated, it means "sweet revenge." It's a fusion of sweet feminine charm and masculine strength.

For example, a classic men's item like a duffle coat is given a cocoon silhouette, creating a sense of mix. Another example is applying a bold pattern like leopard print to a down vest. In essence, we express a woman's duality through a single item or through coordination.

――What were the key points you focused on for this season's look shoot, and what should people pay attention to?

It was about how to unify the duality into a single fashion story. The shoot was done in one location (a flower shop), but we deliberately shot it twice, once in the early morning and again at night. This duality of day and night, and the fact that the shoot was reset, created a duality in the model's mindset, which I believe is reflected in the photographs.

――What is the key look (coordination) for this season?

It's a stadium jacket paired with a sweatshirt dress. The stadium jacket is a trendy item for this autumn and winter, but I wanted to stick to the authentic, so I commissioned an American manufacturer called "GB SPORTS." I've paired it with a sweatshirt material dress underneath, but we've added a touch of sexiness to avoid it looking too much like a college look.

――What are the key items and key colors?

It's the lace x leopard print down vest. The "SWEET REVENGE" is all expressed in this one item. Lace, leopard print, and a men's item like a down vest... contrasting elements like softness and strength, women's and men's, are unified in a single item.

――What "materials" did you focus on this season?

It's the use of lace, which is a staple for women's wear. However, we've arranged it so that it doesn't feel overly sweet, so that it feels "strong" or "cool" despite being lace.

――What is the most rewarding aspect of being a designer?


Since I'm someone with a masculine leaning creating women's wear, I believe "imagination" is the most important thing. You need the sensibility to reflect your vision of a woman into the collection, and that's the real joy of creating women's fashion.

――A message to your fans.


It might be a bit intimidating because it's not a brand that screams "this is so XX style," but perhaps that's part of its charm. I think it will really resonate with women who love fashion.
