The Avant-Garde Raf Simons and Imperial Armani Showcase Couture

Raf Simons focused on women across four continents, challenging himself with masterful modern couture. Armani presented real couture with gentle dresses that embrace the body, under the theme of "Nude."

Modern Dior, Elegant Armani

For Raf Simons' third season at Dior, the spotlight was on continents. Works inspired by women from four continents were presented: Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa.

Europe was an homage to Monsieur Dior. The glen check was rendered by layering ribbon-like fabrics, and the houndstooth pattern received a twist with a coating. The I-line suits and dresses, meticulously cut, became decidedly modern with the combination of different materials and colors.

The Americas represented sport. Relaxed styles were presented with dolman-sleeved blousons and scarves. Africa was inspired by the Maasai tribe, with vibrant color combinations, and fresh looks featuring mesh and fringed dresses paired with bold chokers and bangles. Asia incorporated kimono sleeves and a relaxed collar styling. Dior red dresses and coats were particularly striking.

Armani Privé presented a collection titled "Nude," featuring a clean sweep of garments from suits to dresses, all in nude hues. Jackets with supple silhouettes were paired with flowing flared skirts. Dresses seemed to float like feathers, layered with delicate, translucent chiffon. The collection offered a range of light and elegant pieces.
