Design Philosophy: Modern Classics with Futuristic Sport Elegance
The "Y-3 x Linda Farrow" collaboration eyewear, newly released, takes classic sunglass silhouettes as its inspiration, fusing Yohji Yamamoto's signature stylish sensibility with adidas' innovation. By reviving vintage shapes for the modern era and rendering them with bold, graphic finishes, these pieces inject playfulness into classical forms and unique visuals, proposing entirely new, contemporary silhouettes.
The lenses utilize "CR-39 lenses," which are lighter than glass lenses and exhibit fewer chromatic aberrations, as well as polycarbonate lenses, a thin and lightweight high-tech material that offers superior impact resistance—ten times that of standard plastic lenses—while also protecting the eyes by cutting nearly 100% of harmful UV rays.
The "JIDDA" model features CR-39 lenses with stainless steel frames, designed for unisex wear. The "AMODI" model is a unisex model with polycarbonate lenses and stainless steel frames.
The "IODAMA" model is a women's model with CR-39 lenses and acetate frames. The "DAIMYO" model is also a women's model with CR-39 lenses and acetate frames.
The "JATOMI" model is a unisex model with polycarbonate lenses and aluminum frames. The "DASMAY" model is a unisex model with CR-39 lenses and aluminum frames.
Attention is drawn to the "Y-3 x Linda Farrow" collaboration eyewear, which exemplifies Y-3's design ethos of modern classics imbued with futuristic sport elegance.
