Kyoto Gion Store Proposes Hair Arrangements Beyond East and West
In 2013, acca's 20th anniversary year, the Kyoto Gion store was established on Hanamikoji Street, a charming lane in Kyoto's Gion district known for preserving authentic Japanese traditions and culture. The interior, designed in the traditional machiya townhouse style, retains as much of the original structure as possible, including the inner courtyard, pillars, ceiling, and entryway threshold. At the heart of the store, vermilion lacquerware furnishings by a urushi artist display acca's hair accessories, artfully arranged to evoke traditional Japanese sweets.
In addition to the "Personal Hair Arrangement" service offered at all acca shops—tailored to individual hair volume, texture, head shape, and length—and guidance for at-home styling, the Kyoto Gion store uniquely proposes hair arrangements that transcend the boundaries of Eastern and Western aesthetics.
Furthermore, the second floor is slated to host a series of workshops designed for women, aiming to enhance their beauty and enrich their daily lives, extending beyond the realm of hair accessories. This initiative is certainly worth noting.
acca's Spring/Summer 2013 Collection Theme: "Eve"
The duality of sensual feminine allure, instinct, and origin—The collection expresses the innocent and curious 'Eve' using silk chiffon in happy colors and aurora colors that shift with the light. This is juxtaposed with contrasting materials like enamel and metallic leather, representing the cunning hidden within, thus embodying the duality of Eve's nature.
