Alberta Ferretti Steps Down for the First Time Since Founding

Originally from the UK, Natalie Ratabesi graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London in 2000. She honed her design skills through experience at numerous prestigious fashion houses, including John Galliano's tenure at Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, and Gucci, before ultimately serving as Senior Creative Director at Ralph Lauren.

Regarding the designer selection, Alberta Ferretti, the founder who has overseen the brand until now, commented: "I felt it was time for Philosophy to have a more independent and singular vision. I am confident that Natalie, with her femininity and boundless energy, will best express the essential spirit of the Philosophy collection."

Natalie Ratabesi also shared her thoughts: "I am honored to have this wonderful opportunity. I have always admired Alberta Ferretti's unwavering aesthetic sense and her clean, contemporary elegance. Philosophy's timeless, distinctive style and natural femininity have always set this brand apart. I aim to express these characteristics for the future."

Philosophy is now being entrusted to the next generation. All eyes are on the Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection, marking the new designer's debut.
