Partnership Established with the UN World Food Programme
New York-based luxury brand Michael Kors has announced a long-term partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). Moving forward, Michael Kors will raise millions of dollars over several years through fundraising and campaigns to support the eradication of hunger.

Campaigns and Limited-Edition Charity Items to Be Released
Designer Michael Kors has long shown a strong interest in charity. This new partnership is with the WFP, which for 50 years has provided food to vulnerable populations, including women and children suffering from hunger, and currently supports 90 million people annually in over 70 countries.
Michael Kors will now focus on eradicating hunger through various campaigns, events, and the release of limited-edition charity items. Over several years, the brand aims to provide millions of dollars in funding, shed light on the ongoing plight of global hunger, and raise public awareness through fashion and the global community.
As a first step, designer Michael Kors has already launched a public service announcement on the brand's social media channels. Featuring celebrities from the fashion, film, and music industries, the announcement conveyed the current global situation. In March, two types of unisex watches will be released with the keyword "Watch Hunger Stop." For each watch sold, food will be provided to 100 children. These watches will go on sale in Japan in May, and a donation by email will also be initiated as a further fundraising effort.
Michael Kors commented, "If there is one thing I have learned over the years traveling the world and encountering new cultures and people, it is that millions of people around the globe struggle for the food they and their families need to eat each day. I want to lend my voice and efforts to this global tragedy."
Hunger, which the WFP considers "the most solvable in the world" yet struggles to eradicate, is a persistent issue. With Michael Kors's collaboration, expectations are high not only for financial support but also for the brand to act as a catalyst in increasing public interest in hunger eradication through fashion.
