This Year's Theme: 'Hikari Michi – Step Towards the Light of Hope –'

Following the Great East Japan Earthquake last year, the 'Ginza Illumination,' conceived by the Ginza Dori Association and the Ginza International Luxury Committee (GILC) – comprising 14 international luxury brands with boutiques in Ginza – to wish for recovery, returns this year.

This year's theme is 'Hikari Michi – Step Towards the Light of Hope –'. Special champagne gold LED lights, developed for this illumination, will line the sidewalks of Ginza Dori and Harumi Dori for approximately 1,500 meters, creating an illuminated road of light that expresses Ginza's unique sense of quality.

As with last year, donation boxes for disaster recovery support will be placed inside the stores of each GILC member brand during the illumination period. All donations will be contributed to the Japan National Federation of UNESCO Associations and used for the reconstruction of the affected areas.

Furthermore, Ginza's official website will also feature highlights of the illumination. We hope you will walk along 'Hikari Michi,' an elegant ribbon of light that colorfully adorns Ginza during the year-end and New Year holidays, and feel a sense of hope for the future.
