MUVEIL Opens First Concept Shop, GALLERY MUVEIL, in Minami-Aoyama

MUVEIL

Showcasing the latest collections, along with vintage items, books, and wedding and film-inspired pieces to convey its worldview.

The Brand's First Concept Shop, "GALLERY MUVEIL"

We wanted to create a space where we could express MUVEIL's world through vintage items, books, and more, so we named it "GALLERY MUVEIL."──says designer Keiko Nakayama, whose brand has just opened its first concept shop, "GALLERY MUVEIL."

To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the popular brand MUVEIL has opened its first concept shop. Descend the stairs to the basement of a vintage apartment building in Minami-Aoyama, and you'll find a shopping area featuring the main line "MUVEIL," the "MUVEIL WORK" line debuting with the Spring/Summer 2013 Cruise Collection, as well as kids' items and accessories. On the second floor, located above the checkout, is a salon-like space where designer Keiko Nakayama displays vintage items and books she has sourced internationally. It's a loft-like atmosphere offering a sense of calm.

The interior was designed by Koichi Futatsumata of CASE-REAL, a design studio based in Fukuoka. Based on a simple, industrial aesthetic, the space blends white walls with warm, solid wood flooring and custom fixtures combining wood and plating, creating an environment where diverse elements converge.

In a "Wedding" room, reminiscent of a hidden chamber, MUVEIL's original wedding dresses are displayed alongside dresses from "FOR" and accessories from "La Fleur," selected by Ms. Nakayama. Also featured are original organic candles crafted for MUVEIL by a French candlemaker.

Venture further in, and you'll find a "Cinema" room where Ms. Nakayama screens her favorite films, showcasing works that express MUVEIL's worldview. Additionally, an "Exhibition" space is planned for future installations and events.

With its blend of feminine charm, cuteness, and playfulness, MUVEIL's collections, combined with Ms. Nakayama's discerning eye, create a space that feels like a cherished sanctuary for MUVEIL fans.
