Having been born and raised in America, gifts have always been a very familiar part of my life. I always bring something when I attend a home party. I enjoy searching for gifts while thinking about the recipient, and I also love preparing surprises. For example, I meticulously plan the date itself, perhaps by first giving a more affordable gift to slightly disappoint them, then surprising them with the main present during dinner.

I Want to Choose Gifts With the Recipient in Mind

After browsing the Ginza store again, I found the perfect gifts for my parents.

This blue cashmere knit cap from Barneys New York is for my father. He often goes out for walks, and the hat he currently wears looks quite old. The fact that he often wears blue clothes also influenced my choice.

And for my mother, I chose the Barneys New York reversible down coat with fur. She's always worn down coats in winter, but she hasn't bought a new one in a while, and since her image is often associated with white, this coat is perfect for her.

And for a female friend I'm slightly interested in, I'd give her the Penhaligon's mini perfume set. At my age, a very expensive gift might feel a bit much, but this set offers a sense of luxury and with its variety, I think she's likely to find a scent she loves. For myself, I chose the Sky Blue Hawk silver bangle. I've never worn jewelry before, but I thought it looked cool on a friend. Since this will be my first piece of jewelry, I was drawn to something simple.
